The 'Tavolo Scultura', a rare and iconic designer coffee table, was designed in the late 1960s by the celebrated British designer David Hicks. This specific example dates from the 1970s and is a showpiece for lovers of the modernist style.
The coffee table owes its name to its architectural, sculptural base. The frame is ingeniously constructed from layered, stacked chrome-plated spindles that form a beautiful geometric grid. A thick top of tempered safety glass rests upon this, giving the coffee table an open and spacious appearance.
Dimensions (WxDxH in cm): 100x100x39.5
The coffee table is in good vintage condition. The chrome still shines brightly; a small amount of patina may be present here and there (very limited). The glass top is intact without chips or deep scratches. Due to the considerable weight of the frame and the fragility of the tabletop, the table can only be picked up in Hasselt, Belgium (either in person or via a courier service).
