This elegant floor lamp is from the well-known "Haloprofil" series, designed by Swiss architect and designer Viktor Frauenknecht for the renowned manufacturer Swisslamps International AG, Zurich. Founded in 1967, the company is one of the leading Swiss lighting manufacturers and collaborated with renowned designers on high-quality, technically sophisticated lighting concepts – the Haloprofil series is considered one of their most distinctive models and a sought-after collector's item of Mid-Century and Post-Modern design.
The lamp is in very good condition with only minor signs of age and use, two slight dents on the weight, which do not detract from the authentic character of this vintage piece. Fully functional, including dimmer footswitch.
The lamp rests on a heavy, black base and has a balanced, chrome-plated swivel arm with a counterweight that can be continuously adjusted in height and angle. The distinctive, finely ribbed aluminum lamp head can be rotated on its own axis, allowing it to be used as either an uplighter or a precise reading lamp. The light intensity is conveniently controlled via a footswitch with dimming function, allowing the lighting mood to be continuously adjusted to the respective situation.
