Swedish oak chest of drawers produced in the 1960s by String Design AB, a Stockholm-based company founded in 1949 and internationally renowned for the modular “String” shelving system, a true icon of Scandinavian modernism. Alongside its modular shelves, the company manufactured furniture defined by clarity of form and functionality, as seen in this compact model. The four drawers feature carved geometric-profile handles seamlessly integrated into the front, while the slightly tapered legs lend visual lightness and elegance. The original manufacturer’s label is present inside, confirming authenticity. The piece reflects the restrained aesthetic and solid craftsmanship typical of Swedish design of the period.
