Beautiful Italian Stilnovo wall sconce from the 1950s in brass, teak, and opaline glass.
The rugby ball-shaped opaline glass shades are superb, truly imposing compared to the usual models (21x11 cm). They are in very good overall condition, with a few minor, almost invisible marks.
The sconce clearly evokes the front legs of a praying mantis. The metal body is adorned with triangular teak strips, small brass details throughout, including on the three-pronged brackets typical of Italian productions of this period.
These are extremely rare models, completely absent from the French market, in very good condition. They would be perfect in an industrial loft decor with Scandinavian modernist furniture, a Gepo Anvia Colombo space-age pendant light, an Arlus chandelier, a Sarfatti floor lamp, a retro Cossack lamp from the 1950s, 60s, or 70s, or a Lunel wall sconce.
