Space age sputnik futurist ceiling light.One of the most characteristic ceiling lamps from the 1970s. The central metal part is chrome-plated steel. This is joined by dark-stained, curved wooden “wings”, which give the lamp a Scandinavian effect. The circular cutouts (holes) on the wooden elements not only play an aesthetic role, but also lighten the robust structure. The spheres are made of hand-blown Murano glass. The value of the lamp is given by the special texture of the lampshades: n The glass contains thousands of tiny air bubbles, which makes the material appear dense and “icy”, Pulegoso technique. This type also existed in three- and five-arm versions, often combining wood with chrome, a hallmark of the “Space Age” style typical of the era.
