Vintage cascade pendant lamp by the Belgian lighting company Massive. In the 60s/70s, Massive launched a series of iconic Space Age designs, including the beloved Bug Eye. Although these lamps were produced in large quantities at the time, they are highly sought after by collectors today due to their distinctive design and characteristic style of the era.
The lamp features a cylindrical, chrome-plated core surrounded by a ring of warm orange-colored plastic elements. At the bottom is a beautiful piece of glasswork that creates a unique play of light.
When the lamp is lit, a beautiful contrast is created between the cool chrome and the warm glow of the elements. The glasswork refracts the light in a subtle way, giving the lamp an almost futuristic appearance.
The wiring has been renewed and the lamp is fitted with a new ceiling rose. The chrome work has been polished. The cables are approximately 170 cm long and can be easily adjusted as desired.
Given its age of approximately 60–70 years, slight signs of use may be present, but the lamp is in very neat condition and still looks like new.
