The Cascade ceiling light by Motoko Ishii, designed for Staff Lighting in the 1970s, embodies elegant space-age design. Several slender, chrome-plated cylinders hang at graduated heights from a ceiling plate, supporting spherical glass elements with mirrored surfaces facing downwards. This creates a soft, indirect light.
The clear, geometric arrangement and the interplay of chrome and glass give the light a floating, sculptural effect. The cascading structure simultaneously provides depth and dynamism, making it less of a mere light source and more of a design element within the room.
Very rare in this length.
