The Slava mechanical desk alarm clock, manufactured at the Second Moscow Watch Factory during the 1960s, represents a distinctive era of Soviet horology. This specific timepiece, often referred to as a travel or desk clock, is defined by its characteristic ring-shaped brass base and canonical Space Age silhouette.
Constructed from a two-tone metal casing, the design pairs a silver-toned body with a gold-colored brass bezel and base. The light-colored dial features legible black Roman numerals, openwork hour and minute hands, and a central second hand, all protected by a glass cover. It is powered by the renowned Soviet caliber 5671 mechanical movement with 11 jewels, which is hand-wound from the reverse side and includes a fully functional mechanical alarm. The clock measures 8 centimetres in total height, 6 centimetres in width, and 4 centimetres in depth.
The clock remains in fully functional condition, with both the timekeeping mechanism and the alarm operating smoothly. It retains its original finish and authentic character, displaying a natural patina consistent with its mid-century origins.
