This Sity sofa, designed by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia in 1989, is an iconic piece from the late twentieth century. The design is known for its modular flexibility and the introduction of the chaise longue to the modern living room, which made a new way of relaxing possible.
The sofa is constructed from a sturdy structure with upholstery in a striking turquoise shade, combined with cushions in a contrasting pattern. The modular arrangement offers ample seating and an inviting chaise longue, ideal for larger spaces. The base rests on subtle black legs that give the whole piece a floating effect.
Although the structure and the cushions have retained their form and function, this piece offers an excellent basis for reupholstering. It is a project piece that, once renewed, will regain its original grandeur.
