Danish side table with ceramic bowl designed by Poul Hundevad and Arne Basse. This special object was manufactured by Knabstrup in the 1960s.
The organically shaped base is made of teak wood, upon which rests a removable glazed ceramic bowl. Together, it forms a remarkable example of Danish modernism from the 1960s. The design combines fine woodwork with artistic ceramics — typical of the Scandinavian collaboration between furniture makers and ceramists during that period.
The set is in very beautiful condition. The bowl is flawless and bears both the manufacturer's stamp and sticker on the bottom. The only sign of use on the base is a small crack (see photo), but this is not visible when the bowl rests on it and certainly does not compromise stability.
