An original and beautiful example of Mid-Century Modern and functional design: a so-called 'Tambour' sewing cabinet. This type of furniture, heavily inspired by the Danish design school of the 1950s and 60s, combines elegant forms with an ingenious storage system. The two original, movable storage trays are in mint condition.
The most characteristic element is the wooden roll-up door (tambour), which slides smoothly down the rounded sides. This allows direct access to the contents without hinged doors taking up extra space. The cabinet stands on four slender, tapered wooden legs characteristic of the Scandinavian style. Integrated handles are fitted into the side panels.
In very beautiful vintage condition with light signs of use consistent with its age (see photos for details).
Although originally designed as a sewing cabinet, this piece can be used as a side table, plant table, or storage cabinet for jewelry and small accessories.
