A set of six Italian chairs from the 1990s, representing the mature phase of Italian Modern design. The collection combines the formal boldness characteristic of Italian design from this period with thoughtful ergonomics — these chairs were created for extended, comfortable use without sacrificing distinctive character.
The construction relies on metal sled bases that give the chairs a light, almost floating appearance. The frame flows seamlessly into solid wood armrests painted silver — these constitute the most recognizable element of the design, contrasting with the soft line of the upholstered seat and backrest. Blue structural fabric upholstery covers the entire backrest surface, creating a unified, rounded form. Characteristic horizontal stitching organizes the shape and emphasizes its soft, organic character.
Italian design of the 1990s continued explorations begun by previous generations of designers who had established Italy as one of the world's most important design centers. This period brought a synthesis of earlier experiments — the bold forms of the 1960s and 1970s merged with a practical approach to function and durability.
