Set of Six Authentic Exclusive Bentwood Cane Dining Chairs Manufactured by Josef Hofmann - Vienna / Bielitz. Austria, 1920s. Ref: CH2005
This elegant set of six high end bentwood dining chairs was manufactured by Josef Hofmann, one of the renowned Central European producers of high-quality bentwood furniture during the early twentieth century. An original manufacturer’s label remains present beneath the seat, identifying the chairs as original products of the Hofmann workshops in Vienna and Bielitz.
Expertly crafted from steam-bent beechwood, the chairs feature beautifully hand-woven cane seats and oval cane backrests that combine lightness, comfort and timeless elegance. The gently curved frames, turned uprights and warm honey-coloured finish reflect the refined craftsmanship for which Austrian bentwood furniture became internationally celebrated.
With their graceful proportions and understated design, these chairs are equally at home in a sophisticated dining room, boutique hospitality setting or carefully curated contemporary interior. Their airy construction and natural materials allow them to blend effortlessly with both traditional and modern surroundings.
The set remains in a good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
