A set of candlesticks on a base designed in the 1960s by Fritz Nagel in collaboration with the architect/artist Werner Stoff. These chrome-plated metal candlesticks were manufactured by the German company BMF (Bayerische Metallwarenfabrik).
The design is known for its modular, creative form, allowing for various sculptural combinations by stacking or arranging multiple pieces. This lot is a beautiful example of such a sculpture, making it more of a work of art than a utilitarian object.
The set consists of 16 candlesticks, two bowls, and a base from 1974. In addition, two very rare Nagel vases are included. Because the set is modular, its shape can be continually changed or even expanded.
All components are in beautiful condition with some light patina.
