A unique opportunity for the serious design collector or investor. Offered: a matching set of two original Le Corbusier LC3 armchairs ("Grand Confort"), produced by Cassina.
A unique opportunity for collectors: both chairs date from Cassina's very first production period (the mid-1960s).
The serial numbers engraved in the chrome are extremely low:
• Chair 1: LC/3 0075 (serial number under 100!)
• Chair 2: LC/3 0112
It is extremely rare to find a set of this age with such early, matching numbers.
Specifications & Condition:
• Authenticity: Both frames are signed (Le Corbusier signature + LC/3 logo + serial number).
• Condition: Completely original vintage condition. The cream leather has a beautiful patina.
• Upholstery: The chairs are likely fitted with springs from the 1960s (heavy cushions that plump up again after being fluffed). This gives the cushions their characteristic nonchalant, deep seat and some sag. We chose not to re-stuff the chairs to preserve the authenticity and originality of this pair. A new owner can, of course, choose to have them professionally re-stuffed.
