Via Fondazza is a collection of vases made of mirror-polished spun brass and designed for Skultuna, a Swedish company that produces brass and sterling silver objects of the highest quality. The project is inspired by the archetypal subjects depicted in the still-life paintings of the artist Giorgio Morandi, who is considered a precursor to minimalism, whose work was based on a thorough investigation of forms and proportions. Via Fondazza is the name of the street in Bologna where the artist's house and studio were located.
The brass has since changed in texture and color over time and, I suspect, cleaning.
