This is a set of two antique ceramic vases, manufactured by the Belgian pottery Thulin during the Art Deco period, circa 1923-1935. The vases are characteristic of Thulin's production, known for its decorative earthenware with vibrant glazes. This pair stands out due to its elegant silhouette and the expressive drip glaze, a technique that was very popular at the time. The vases are designed in a tall, amphora-like model with two gracefully curled handles and a wide flared neck. The most striking feature is the drip glaze, where the colors blend into each other. The base is a deep, iridescent purple-brown hue that transitions upwards into bright, vibrant green tones. This technique ensures that no two vases are exactly identical, giving each piece a unique character and rich visual texture. The overall condition of the set is good, consistent with its age of almost a century. The glaze has retained its luster and deep colors well, testifying to the quality of the original craftsmanship. The vases possess an authentic patina that emphasizes their historical value. On the bottom rim, there is a small firing imperfection (where the glaze did not fully run during production), not a later damage.
