Beautiful and timeless set of 6 original Mid-Century Modern dining chairs, designed by Jan Kuypers for Imperial Furniture Manufacturing (1950s).
A rare design classic of absolute top quality that you rarely come across in Europe.
When I bought them a few years ago, I treated them with great care: sanded them entirely by hand. The upholstery was also thoroughly cleaned at the time. You can oil them if desired for a dark teak look (see the example in the photo). I did not do this myself because this lighter, matte shade suited my interior better.
The solid frames are structurally in very good condition, with a joint that is currently a bit loose but is very easy to repair. (Just tap it and perhaps some wood glue). We only used four of them, so we didn't bother doing it ourselves. It is truly quality that is no longer made like this.
The upholstery is in all likelihood still original. The seats and backrests are easy to remove, should you wish to reupholster them in the future. The fabric is definitely not new but can easily last for years to come.
They are becoming available with a little pain in my heart due to moving in together.
