This set of six dining chairs was manufactured by the renowned Alsatian manufacturer JP Ehalt, dating from the 1970s. The design is a faithful interpretation of the classic Louis XIV style, resulting in a stately and elegant silhouette that reflects the grandeur of the French court.
The chairs are constructed with a sturdy wooden frame, finished in a refined cream color with gold accents. The upholstery consists of a rich, golden-brown velvet fabric featuring a classic striped and floral motif, finished with decorative nails along the edges.
Two of the six chairs come with armrests; they served as the head chairs for the matching dining table. The armrests of these chairs are upholstered. These chairs are slightly wider and measure 58x51x98cm.
The chairs are in very good condition. The original finish and upholstery have been preserved, contributing to the authentic character of this vintage set. This set was purchased at Galerie Sint-Jan in Genk in the late 1970s and forms part of the matching dining table, buffet cabinet with mirror, and silver cabinet.
