A rare set of five compartmentalized plates produced by Steuler Keramik in West Germany in the 1970s.
This model is distinguished by its particularly elaborate, organic shape, quite unlike traditional fondue plates. Each piece features a central basin surrounded by an elegant cabochon relief, as well as several integrated compartments for separating sauces, side dishes, tapas, or other preparations.
The gradient decoration, fading from chocolate brown to ivory, is characteristic of Steuler's high-end production. The sculptural silhouette and the treatment of volumes strongly recall the work of Carl Zalloni, an iconic designer for the German manufacturer. However, the attribution remains to be confirmed due to the lack of official documentation found to date.
