Original Thonet S43 cantilever chair, designed by Mart Stam. As one of the most important classics of Bauhaus design, the S43 embodies the consistent reduction to the essentials and is still considered a milestone in modern furniture history. By eliminating the rear legs and using an innovative cantilever construction made of chrome-plated tubular steel, a completely new form of seating was created, uniquely combining functionality, comfort, and timeless aesthetics.
The seat and backrest are made of molded beech plywood in a natural finish and harmonize perfectly with the polished tubular steel frame. Condition:
