RESERVED. Beechwood Model 728 chairs by Josef Hoffmann. A design from 1906, Austria. The loose seats have been reupholstered with an ochre yellow teddy fabric. The spindle chair is also known as a ‘barrel chair’ due to its barrel shape. A classic example of the Wiener Secession and the early modernist style of the early 20th century. The chairs are very sturdy. The black lacquer shows some damage. A sought-after collector's item!
