A truly unique set, these four black lacquered beechwood model 728 chairs by Josef Hoffmann. A design from 1906, Austria. The individual seats are upholstered in red (faux) leather.
The spindle chair is also called a "barrel chair" because of its barrel shape. A classic example of the Vienna Secession and the early modernist style from the early 20th century.
The chairs are very sturdy. The black lacquer has some wear. A sought-after collector's item!
