This set of three original ship lanterns was manufactured by Tavernier Oostende, a renowned Belgian producer of professional maritime lighting from the mid-20th century. It is a special lot featuring an almost consecutive numbered series: 527, 529, and 530 — a rarity among maritime objects that served actively for years on board commercial vessels. Each lamp bears the original casting mark “Tavernier Oostende” and the Bureau Veritas mark, the international classification society for shipping. The robust metal housings date from circa 1940–1950 and display a beautiful, authentic maritime patina. During their operational lifespan, the Fresnel lenses were professionally renewed. They bear the inscription: DHI 09/03/76 – Deutsches Hydrographisches Institut. This confirms that the lenses were officially approved in 1976 in accordance with the international safety regulations of the time. The lamps are now electrically operated on 230V and ready for use with a plug, making them immediately suitable for atmospheric industrial maritime decoration. Please note: the original handle is missing from one of the three lamps. This does not affect operation or stability.
