This set of three mid-century barstools showcases the enduring appeal of bentwood furniture. The design draws clear inspiration from the classic Thonet style - curved wooden frames and woven cane seat and back. A very elegant option for bar seating.
Each stool features a circular seat and a curved backrest, both inset with traditional woven cane. The tall, slender legs are reinforced by a circular footrest, adding structural integrity and visual balance to the design. The manufacturer's mark, "ASSLEGNO ITALY," is clearly stamped on the underside of the seat frame, confirming their origin.
The stools remain in excellent vintage condition, retaining their original finish and structural soundness. The cane weaving is intact, and the wood displays a natural patina that speaks to their history and use over the decades.
The classic silhouette and natural materials makes them easy to integrate into mid-century modern, bohemian, or eclectic interiors.
The photos are of the same chairs just in different settings - at the original dealer and then at the current place at Stodola Antiques in Prague. Any colour differences are due to lighting.
The diameter of the chairs is 35cm, the extra centimeters in the other measurements in the listing are due to legs on each side and the back rest.
