Offered: a beautiful set of two original vintage IKEA "Melker" chairs, designed by Lisa Norinder in the 1990s. These postmodern design classics (often also called scoubidou or spaghetti chairs) make a beautiful minimalist statement in a modern, industrial, or eclectic interior. The chairs are very comfortable and also conveniently stackable.
The chairs are in very good vintage condition. They have always been treated with great care: they were only kept outside under a canopy during use and were immediately stored indoors after each use. As a result, the materials have hardly suffered from the weather. The iconic white synthetic threads are completely intact, firmly tensioned, and have retained their fresh color. The silver-colored metal frame is very neat, with only light signs of use and small scratches consistent with their age. On the underside of the frame (virtually out of sight when the chairs are standing), there are two small spots with rust formation (see detail photos).
