Classic bentwood café/bistro chairs made of bent beech wood with woven cane seats. This model is based on the famous Thonet No. 18, originally introduced in 1876 and recognizable by its elegant loop-shaped backrest. Along with No. 14, No. 18 was one of the best-known café chairs from Thonet production.
The chairs were produced by ZPM Radomsko in Poland. From the late 19th century, an important Thonet factory for bentwood furniture was located in Radomsko. After the Second World War, this factory was nationalized, and the production of Thonet-style bentwood chairs continued under Polish state production, including ZPM Radomsko.
The original ZPM Radomsko label is still located under the seat; see photos.
