Set of 2 original numbered copper ship navigation lanterns from professional shipping, manufactured by Tavernier Oostende, a renowned Belgian producer of maritime lighting. Both lanterns are made of copper and brass and bear the original Bureau Veritas hallmarks and serial numbers 332 and 45. The housings date from circa 1940–1950 and display a beautiful authentic maritime patina. During their active service, the original lenses were professionally replaced with approved Fresnel lenses, marked DHI 03/03/76 (Deutsches Hydrographisches Institut). The set consists of a red port lantern and a green starboard lantern. Both lamps have been tested and operate on electricity, making them particularly attractive as both collector's items and decorative lighting.
