Two beautiful vintage hand-knotted Chinese tapestries from the 1970s, originally purchased from the renowned tapestry retailer Persia in Bergen op Zoom.
The tapestries feature a refined bird and blossom motif in a traditional Oriental style. Thanks to the fine knot structure, beautiful sheen, and detailed finish, they have a luxurious appearance. Both tapestries originate from the same period and form a matching set. The reverse side displays the design very sharply, which is characteristic of fine hand-knotted work.
Technique: Hand-knotted/hand-tufted with artisanal hand-carved 3D relief.
Material: Luxurious blend of heavy-quality wool and lustrous silk. Weight: Approx. 1.5 kilos each (attesting to the very high weave density and material quality). Dimensions: 90 cm x 60 cm each (excluding fringes).
Slight signs of wear due to age. The light-colored tapestry has light signs of use from a small stain (visible in the second-to-last photo), but the structure is unaffected. The dark one is in virtually good condition after 50 years of use. Available for purchase either as a set or individually (price in the advertisement is per set).
