Richard Mirando (Bronx NYC 1961) - better known as SEEN and 'The Godfather of Graffiti' - is a living legend in the graffiti and art world.
Well before graffiti became a mainstream movement, SEEN was active on the streets and underground subways of New York City in the 1970s. In 1973, only 12 years old, SEEN began his work on the city's subways. He became best known for his part in the legendary documentary Subway Art, about the New York graffiti scene in the 1970s.
Contemporary with Banksy, Erwin Olaf, Blek le Rat, Obey, Shepard Fairey, Dadara, Kaws, Jeff Koons, Cope 2, Ces, Zedz and Hugo Kaagman, among others.
