This exceptional First Edition Seagull Chair, designed by Stenerik Eriksson and Gösta Berg for Fritz Hansen, captures the fluid elegance and sculptural presence that made the model a true mid-century classic.
The model was produced by Fritz Hansen in Denmark and is better known as the Mågen (Seagull) chair.
It was manufactured for a short period only, between 1968 and 1973, and is considered one of the iconic chairs of late 1960s Danish design.
The very comfortable and visually striking design is characterized by its organically shaped, sculptural upholstered body with distinctive, generously sized armrests inspired by a seagull’s wing.
The curved lines of the seat and backrest complete the elegant silhouette.
The placement of the head cushion is adjustable.
The chair rests on a five-legged, rotating base in brushed steel.
With its sweeping organic lines and distinctive wing-like profile, the Seagull chair embodies the lightness, comfort, and craftsmanship for which Scandinavian design is celebrated.
