A striking mid-century ceramic vase by Scheurich Keramik, designed by Heinz Siery. The slender, amphora-like form with its elongated spout and elegantly curved handle combines sculptural presence with functional design and exemplifies the innovative design language of West German post-war ceramics.
The textured black and white lava glaze with a graphic decorative band in black and colorful accents in red and yellow is particularly characteristic. The high-contrast design lends the vase a distinctive, almost architectural presence and underscores the experimental spirit of German ceramic design in the 1950s and 60s.
