Expressionist painting by the classified Swedish painter John Börén (1903-1983). Painted in gouache in the 1950s. The painting is hand signed in pencil in the lower right corner. In an original period frame.John August Gustaf Börén, born June 6, 1903 in Hököpinge, Malmö Karoli parish, died January 22, 1983, is a Swedish painter.Boren was the self-taught artist and conducted independent studies while traveling in Italy and France. He exhibited regularly in the exhibitions of the Skåne Art Association since 1932 and with the Hörby Art Association and with the group The Twelve . He has exhibited separately in Trelleborg and Malmö. His art consists of still lifes with flowers and fruits, interiors and landscapes, often with Skåne motifs, in oil, tempera, pastel, watercolor or wax crayons. Börén is represented by gouaches in the Malmö Museum and by the painting Tobacco Flower in the Sydöstra Skåne Art Museum in Tomelilla.
