Scandinavian teak bedside table designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors, featuring a shaped top and integrated curved handle.
Scandinavian teak bedside table designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors, a refined example of Swedish production from the 1950s–60s. The composition is slender and essential, raised on four tapered legs with a lower shelf that visually lightens the structure. A defining feature is the curved shaping of the top, with its raised edge and softly rounded corners forming a continuous, almost organic frame. In subtle counterpoint, the drawer handle curves in the opposite direction. Fridhagen, active for Bodafors, is known for a restrained yet sophisticated design language, balancing functionality with discreet sculptural detailing. His work belongs firmly within the Swedish modern tradition, where proportion, craftsmanship and material sensitivity shape furniture conceived to endure over time.
