An elegant Scandinavian lounge suite consisting of a three-seat sofa and a matching pair of lounge chairs, crafted in solid teak with black leather upholstery. Dating from the 1960s, the set features beautifully sculpted armrests, an open spindle back construction and its original no-sag spring suspension. The rear has been fully finished, allowing the furniture to be placed freely within an interior. Extensive research has been carried out into the origin of this suite. Although the designer and manufacturer have not yet been conclusively identified, the design shows strong stylistic similarities to the work of Svend Åge Eriksen and furniture produced by Glostrup Møbelfabrik during the 1960s. The proportions, elegant armrests and open back construction closely resemble documented Eriksen designs, although no identical model has yet been located. Comparable Glostrup sofas and lounge chairs demonstrate the same overall design language while differing in several construction details. It is therefore offered as an attractive Scandinavian Modern lounge suite with a possible attribution rather than a confirmed designer piece. Complete original sofa and chair sets of this quality have become increasingly difficult to find.
