These chairs from Casala's "Obo-Formsitz" series represent a striking example of mid-century modern furniture design. Their distinctive silhouette and the use of molded wood underscore the functional yet aesthetic appeal of these designs, characterized by clean lines.
The construction consists of a continuous molded wood seat shell with a pronounced, dark grain. The shell is supported by a chrome-plated five-star base, providing stability and a swivel function. The chairs were manufactured in West Germany, as evidenced by the corresponding stamp on the underside.
The chairs are in very good condition. The original wood surface has been preserved and displays an authentic patina that emphasizes the vintage character of the pieces. The swivel mechanism operates smoothly.
