Modernist seating produced in Scandinavia during the 1930s, reflecting European research into cantilever structures developed within the Bauhaus movement. The chromed tubular steel frame follows a continuous sled-like line, balancing visual lightness with technical innovation. The black upholstery of seat and backrest creates a restrained contrast, while integrated armrests emphasize the formal clarity typical of the period. A fine example of how modernist language spread across Northern Europe, in dialogue with the work of Mart Stam and Mies van der Rohe.
