This rare Klismos stool/table was designed by T.H. Robsjohn Gibbings and produced by Saridis of Athens. It can function as a stool or a table with the addition of a glass top. This is the first production of this model, made in 1961 in Greek walnut and leather by Saridis of Athens. It is in fantastic, completely original condition, complete with label and incised number.
This lounge stool was part of the collection he designed for Saridis of Athens in 1961, inspired by the drawings he saw on ancient Greek vases. The woven seat is made of leather straps that fit tightly around the walnut frame. The design reflects Robsjohn-Gibbings' philosophy of furniture design that is timeless.
The brick-red wool cushion was added by the owner to protect this precious piece. Minimal signs of wear as visible in the photo shoot.
