A hand-forged iron table candlestick with an organic structure, attributed to master blacksmith Samuel Yellin. The structural design is developed from a solid iron bar, meticulously worked using traditional forging techniques. The base culminates in a finely chiseled dragon's head with open jaws and stylized features, demonstrating advanced technical mastery in metalworking. From this zoomorphic terminal, the iron stem coils concentrically on the horizontal plane to form a stable, low-profile support before rising vertically. The central axis transforms into a geometric section of open cage or openwork twist, exhibiting precise spatial symmetry that creates a linear and dynamic optical effect depending on the viewing angle. Above the twisted section, the continuous stem supports a hand-hammered collector saucer with wavy, foliate-patterned edges for holding wax. The piece terminates in an integrated, uniformly thick cylindrical cup for the candle. The entire surface of the ironwork features an original dark, oxidized patina with subtle chromatic variations that highlight the textures and irregularities of the forging.
