Sam Drukker (Goes, 1957)
Drukker spent his youth in Assen and studied at the Minerva Academy in Groningen. In the early 1980s Drukker made his breakthrough with his work at an art exhibition in the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam and was soon able to draw attention to his work. At that time he was mostly known for his choice of materials and used jute as a base. He is currently regarded as one of the best romantic portrait and figure painters in the Netherlands. In 2021 and 2022 his work has been shown in Museum Jan te Amstelveen and the Drents Museum, among others. Drukker has many publications and catalogs to his name.
