Double-sided exhibition poster featuring Coup de Chapeau I (1996) by Roy Lichtenstein (1923–1997), produced in 2023 for the show Lichtenstein Remembered. Organized in close collaboration with the Estate of Roy Lichtenstein, the exhibition celebrated the centenary of the artist’s birth and was curated by legendary art dealer Irving Blum. It focused on Lichtenstein’s sculptures and related studies.
The poster showcases both the front and back of Coup de Chapeau I, highlighting the artist’s playful tension between two- and three-dimensional space. The sculpture is classic Lichtenstein—featuring a bright yellow fedora reminiscent of Dick Tracy, an expressive arcing form echoing his iconic brushstroke motifs, and a vibrant explosion that recalls his 1960s comic-inspired imagery. It’s a witty and visually dynamic homage to his own artistic language.
