This round table is an elegant example of 1970s Italian design and bears the signature style of Carlo Scarpa, a prominent 20th-century architect and designer. It was manufactured by the renowned Cattelan Italia, as confirmed by the clearly visible sticker on the underside of the tabletop.
The table is crafted entirely from light Carrara marble, giving it not only a refined appearance but also a sculptural presence. The solid, tapered column forms the central support for the generously sized, circular tabletop, which appears particularly delicate thanks to its slender design and the subtle, natural veining of the marble. The connection between the base and the tabletop is elegantly and seamlessly achieved with a tapered spacer – a typical feature of Scarpa's design language, which often plays with architectural transitions.
The table's proportions are well-balanced, making it suitable both as a dining table for four to six people and as a striking standalone piece in an open-plan living space.
Condition: The table is in very good overall condition with only very minor signs of age-related wear. The marble top has a beautiful veining. A small chip is visible on the base upon close inspection, but this does not affect its stability or function. Overall, the table is very well preserved – ideal for lovers of authentic vintage pieces with patina.
