Beautiful extendable round vintage dining table, model ‘Milan’, designed by Louis van Teeffelen and produced by the Wébé furniture factory in the 1960s. Although the Milan series is primarily known for its rectangular dining tables, the model was also produced in a round version. This version is considerably rarer. The table has been carefully and fully restored, preserving its characteristic patina. The solid teak frame has been refinished and beautifully darkened, allowing it to radiate warmth and character once again. The tabletop has also been cleaned of signs of wear and refinished, giving it a neat appearance. The tabletop is slightly lighter in color than the frame, creating a subtle yet particularly beautiful contrast. The only downsides are a small dent in the tabletop and a minimal chip in the veneer on the edge. The table stands firmly on its slender, tapered legs and feels very solid. The ingenious extension system operates smoothly and features two separate extension leaves, allowing the table to transform in an instant from a compact rectangular/oval dining table into a generous round version. Ideal for both everyday use and when extra guests join you. The design is typical Louis van Teeffelen: clear, well-thought-out, and balanced down to the last detail. The legs, the slender top, and the refined proportions give the table a strikingly light appearance, while the warm teak wood provides added depth. The table exudes Danish aesthetics, yet Louis's touch is unmistakably present. That is why it is affectionately called Dutch Design. In short: a rare version of the Milan series that you rarely come across in this condition.
