This extendable dining table was designed by Bertil Fridhagen for the Swedish manufacturer Bodafors in the 1960s. It embodies the functional elegance characteristic of Scandinavian design from that era, offering a versatile seating solution thanks to its integrated extension mechanism.
Made of teak, the table features a circular top that can be extended to accommodate more guests. The structure rests on four tapered legs, typical of mid-century modern furniture. The wood has a warm brown hue, highlighting the natural grain of the teak. A manufacturer's stamp, reading "Bodafors, Design B. Fridhagen, Made in Sweden 1960," is visible under the tabletop, attesting to its authenticity and provenance.
This table is a true vintage piece with a history. It is sold as is and shows signs of wear and tear (some surface scratches on the tabletop and water or heat stains/rings visible in the photos). These minor imperfections, which in no way compromise its structural integrity, contribute to its patina and retro charm. A light sanding and oiling will restore its original luster if desired. The extensions show a slight difference in color due to varying exposure to light over the years.
