In the early 1990s, Ricard wanted to evolve the universe of its aperitif brand. To attract a new clientele, more urban and more feminine, the company then approached the design consultancy agency Kreo, which suggested that it call on designers Elizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti.
At that time, the two designers created pieces that were very far removed from industrial design. But they rose to the challenge and proposed an object inseparable from anisette—a new carafe. The Premium carafe is still today the most widely distributed object of these designers. The sun moulded in relief on its two sides has become the new emblem of the brand...
These two designers, who exhibit all over the world and are included in the permanent collections of the greatest museums, have designed for you this object that draws its inspiration from the original image of the age-old gourd.
Their carafe has become a contemporary creation through harmony of its proportions, the purity of its material, and the sobriety of the solar motif and will symbolize for you daily the freshness and conviviality of Ricard.
This carafe was given to a few invited people in 1994 during the launch of the new Garouste and Bonetti design. The carafes given during that launch have an engraved number (0303) on the bottom, unlike the ones you find in brasseries, and thus are from a limited edition.
