The Ribbon Chair is an iconic design by Pierre Paulin for Artifort, originally introduced in 1966. The armchair is upholstered in high-quality Kvadrat fabric in a peacock blue shade (exceptionally difficult to photograph, but it is Kvadrat's Tonus 631, composed of 90 percent wool and 10 percent Helanca, a color collection designed by Nina Koppel) and rests on a sturdy pressed wood base, lacquered silver-gray. The construction of a tubular metal frame with horizontal suspension and molded foam reflects Paulin's innovative approach, where comfort and aesthetics come together seamlessly. The original Artifort label stating the designer and model is present on the underside, confirming the authenticity of the piece. The chair is in very good condition and shows minimal signs of use, befitting a carefully preserved piece of furniture from an inheritance (from the first owner).
