RARITY: Pre-war folding salon table SERVA Zagreb (J. Blažeković) from the 1930s
For sale is an extremely rare antique and patented folding table-tray from the period of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1930s). The table was produced in the famous Zagreb wooden products factory "SERVA" owned by J. Blažeković (Prilaz Filipovića 4).
On the underside of the table there is a 100% preserved original blue paper label with the factory's pre-war phone number, as well as the original gold embossed "Serva - Legally Protected" stamp.
Ingenious mechanism: By pulling the side metal handles, the legs are automatically folded inside the frame, and the table turns into a shallow tray for carrying.
Plate dimensions: 61 x 39 cm.
Table height: 52 cm (ideal as a lounge or club table next to an armchair).
Manufacturing: Top quality traditional carpentry, the edges of the upper frame are joined using the "dovetail" technique. The wood is healthy, stable, with a beautiful natural patina and grain texture, without wormholes.
Item Status:
The piece is in exceptional, original collectible condition and varnished. The only drawback is a broken wooden dowel that connects the leg to the table. Everything else is completely intact and functional. Replacing this plug is a quick, cheap and simple carpentry repair that does not require restoration of the rest of the table.
A top example for collectors of pre-war Yugoslav industrial design, salon apartments or retro interiors.
