Product description
French earthenware brand Sarreguemines. This generous serving dish (serviteur muet) is not only an aesthetic masterpiece but also an interesting historical object.
The dish features the specific 'DV' signature, indicating a production period between 1920 and 1950 (Digoin & Vitry-le-François). This piece bridges the transition from late Art Deco to early Mid-Century Modern design.
Features:
Design: Executed in the iconic Majolica style with hand-painted relief of flowers and leaves on a warm honey/caramel-colored base.
Unique detail: The striking blue flower with 'fat lava' texture gives the dish a modern edge for its time.
Size: With a diameter of no less than 32 cm, this is an XL model, much larger than the standard serving dishes in this series.
Finish: Fitted with the original, gold-colored ornate handle. Condition:
