Rare Vintage IKEA 'Tord Björklund' Coffee Table 1980s – Rectangular with Square Chrome & Grey Smoked Glass.
Please note! **Available for pickup until July 9th**
This vintage IKEA coffee table was purchased in the late 1980s at the first store in the Netherlands, located in Sliedrecht. It features a striking design characterized by a sleek, geometric shape. The furniture combines a minimalist silhouette with materials typical of the late twentieth century, resulting in a timeless and versatile piece.
The table is crafted with a square tubular frame of chromed metal, providing a sturdy and reflective base. The tabletop consists of grey smoked glass, which rests elegantly within the frame and offers a subtle contrast to the glossy chrome. The dimensions are visible in the photos.
The furniture is in exceptionally good condition. The chrome has retained its shine and the smoked glass is intact, ensuring the original character of the design has been well preserved.
This coffee table fits perfectly into a modern, industrial, or vintage-inspired interior. The clean lines and neutral color scheme make it a harmonious addition to both light and dark seating areas.
Although IKEA did not print the designer's name in the catalog for every product at the time, Björklund was the lead designer for this type of furniture in the late 1980s. He was responsible for almost all of IKEA's high-end postmodern designs that combined chrome, square or round tubes, and thick glass.
