For the serious collector: an authentic 3-piece set of black basaltware by the renowned English manufacturer F. & G. Woolliscroft of Staffordshire. This set exudes the atmosphere of the mid-19th century and is a beautiful example of Victorian craftsmanship.
Mark: Clearly marked on the underside with the initials FGW and model number 90.
Decoration: Detailed relief of ears of corn, grasses, and flowers (Wheat & Floral pattern).
Material: Matte black stoneware (Black Basalt), a technique popularized by Wedgwood and executed to perfection by Woolliscroft.
Set: Consists of a teapot with lid, a milk jug, and an open sugar bowl.
History: Produced in the period 1850-1860.
