An exceptionally rare and exquisitely crafted cocktail cabinet on casters from the 1950s, likely of German or Central European origin.
This remarkable piece of furniture impressively combines the elegance of late Art Deco with the clean, architectural lines of Mid-Century Modernism. When closed, the cabinet appears as a sculptural statement piece with harmoniously rounded sides, finely matched veneer patterns, and decorative cane-weave doors. When opened, it unfolds into a fully equipped, luxurious home bar and entertainment area.
The interior is exceptionally elaborate and almost entirely original: mirrored interior doors, integrated glass holders, original glass shelves, an insulated ice/freezer compartment, pull-out shelves, and numerous holders for cocktail and bar tools.
The exceptional quality of the materials is particularly noteworthy. The warm exterior with its expressive grain contrasts strikingly with the light interior in bird's-eye maple or burl veneer, creating an almost theatrical effect when open.
The original "Ilse" fittings and locks underscore the high quality standards of the time. The original casters, mechanism, and glass and mirror elements are also intact.
An exceptionally rare collector's item with a strong sculptural and decorative impact—ideal for sophisticated interiors, high-end hospitality projects, interior designers, or significant mid-century collections.
Germany or Central Europe, circa 1950.
